Abstract: In the face of the complicated international situation and the
continuous spread of COVID-19, nuclear energy industry in China has fi rmly adhered
to the high-level opening-up and insisted on deepening international cooperation.

Important progress has been made in overseas nuclear power projects. The China-
Russian cooperation projects - The Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant Units 7 and 8 and
the Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant units 3 and 4 - have officially started.Pakistan’s

Karachi K2 unit has been put into commercial operation, creating good performance
in the construction of the fi rst overseas reactor of third-generation technology.Karachi
K3 unit fi rst loaded. New achievements have been made in international cooperation

in the nuclear energy industry chain. The fuel assembly plant of the Sino-Kazakhstan
joint venture has been completed and put into operation, the development of overseas

uranium resources was steadily advanced, and services have been improved to build an
international brand for nuclear power operation and maintenance. New achievements
have been made in international cooperation in nuclear science and technology. The
fi rst ITER China Helium Cold Solid State Experimental Cladding System (HCCB TBS)

project was launched. Two projects of Living PM and SG integrity evaluation were
awarded EPRI Technology Transformation Award, and several international standards

have been officially released. With the cooperation and exchanges with IAEA and
WANO, the infl uence of China’s nuclear energy industry in the global governance has
been continuously enhanced.
